The Security Wall

The success of the project has attracted attention locally and further afield. Unfortunately that attention is not always welcome and theft is a constant problem.

Mama Massai pays security guards to patrol the projects but it became apparent that a wall was needed to provide the necessary level of protection. The wall is a major financial investment,but is key to the future development of the Kinder in Kenia projects. As we start 2010 the construction is half completed.

The security wall will make sure that unwanted entry into the project are will be aggrevated considerably. It also allows for easier guarding of the area. It will not only protect the property and tools,in particular the carpentry and tailor school utilities,but will also protect the inhabitants,the women and children. It will provide them with an additional level and sense of security.

The length of the wall is 427 meters,is 2.10m high and needs a 90cm wide fundament. Also an access entry of 7 meters wide will be needed. The project management and building of the wall is executed by Mr Zachary Moenga Osoro and his team. Mrs Grene Schait-Maleko (Mama Massai) will visit the area when needed to make sure and garantee that all donations will be spent in full for this project.

The estimated costs of the wall are 3.100.000 Kenyan Schilling,which represents CHF46.347,-.
