Hope Through Education and Vocational Training in Kikambala, Kenya

International Happy Life Youth Education Center Children in Kenya

Dear Friends of Our Project

With great gratitude, we are pleased to announce another important step in our work in Kikambala, Kenya. Thanks to your support, we are getting closer to our goal of enabling young people to build independent futures through education and vocational training.

A particular highlight is the completion of our new carpentry workshop, which will soon open its doors to its first trainees.

The Carpentry Workshop in Kikambala Is About to Start

During our next trip to Kenya, the machinery for the new carpentry workshop will be installed, set up, and put into operation.

This will create the foundation for practical vocational training that opens up new future prospects for many young people.

The workshop is already largely completed and equipped with the necessary machinery. Once the technical setup is complete, the training program can begin.

What will be achieved?

A fully equipped and operational carpentry workshop.

Training of 20 to 25 young people annually.

Imparting specialist knowledge and practical skills.

Training in carpentry and woodworking.

Promoting independence and employment opportunities.

Sustainable development for the Kikambala region.

Education creates a future

Many young people in Kikambala have limited opportunities to complete vocational training. Without training, they often lack the prerequisites for a regular income and a secure future.

The new carpentry workshop offers young people the chance to:

The project makes a sustainable contribution to poverty reduction and the economic development of the region.

Mama Massai: Hope for Kenya's Youth

This project is the brainchild of Grene Schait-Maleko, known to many as Mama Massai.

Born in Kenya and now living in Basel, she has dedicated herself to helping disadvantaged children and young people for decades.

In 1995, she founded the association "Children in Kenya" to create new opportunities for people in her homeland.

Under her leadership, numerous buildings and training programs have been established in the areas of:

What once began as a vision has become a vibrant educational center that offers hope and prospects to many people.

Another milestone

The new carpentry workshop is more than just a workshop.

It will be a place where young people can:

Every completed training program creates a new opportunity for a young person and their family.

Support Still Needed

For the final completion and commissioning of the carpentry workshop, we still need

CHF 15'500.–

This amount will be used for:
